Dr. Tamonash Basu

Dr. Tamonash Basu is a highly skilled and experienced ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and cataract services. Currently serving as a consultant at Netralayam - The Superspeciality Eye Care Centre - in Mukundapur and VIP Road, Dr. Tamonash has garnered over eight years of expertise in the field of ophthalmology. Before joining Netralayam, he was a consultant for glaucoma and cataract services at the renowned Sankara Nethralaya.

He completed his MBBS from North Bengal Medical College in 2010 and pursued his MS (Ophthalmology) at Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital. He achieved a Gold Medal for securing the highest marks in the MS examination. In 2021, he also completed his DNB (Ophthalmology) from the National Board of Exams in New Delhi.

To further enhance his skills in glaucoma management, Dr. Tamonash embarked on a long-term fellowship program at the prestigious Sankara Nethralaya Medical Research Foundation in Chennai in 2015. Under the guidance of esteemed experts like Dr. B Shantha, Dr. Lingam Vijaya, and Dr. Ronnie George, he honed his clinical expertise during the two-year fellowship. One of his notable research works, titled "Risk factors and outcomes of the management of delayed suprachoroidal haemorrhage following Ahmed glaucoma valve implantation in children," has been published in the esteemed British Journal of Ophthalmology. He has also published articles in various indexed journals, including the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology.
